We play music for Modern Jive dancing which covers, a good mixture of tracks from Swing , Rhythm & Blues, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's & current chart hits. We also play Latino hits, & tango fusion tracks that we can dance to, along with a selection of slower speed expressive dance tunes & west coast swing mixed in with a modern jive set. We offer a unique social dance night aimed at a good mixture of age groups, mainly for the experienced dancer. Our events feature visiting dance teachers, who at some events , can offer an ice breaker class & stay all evening to dance with everybody. On occasions we take a few photos to record the success of an event, & these are sometimes posted on Facebook. Our photographer, will always ask your permission first, & respect your decision on the night. You can view these photos on his Facebook page & they can be deleted if you are not happy with them, or in many cases, if you contact him, he will send you a personal copy, for your safe keeping.
If you purchase an event ticket from this website, our contracted terms of business are as follows: In the event of discojive withdrawing a published event due to circumstances beyond our control, discojive will refund the full amount of monies paid to ticket holders, paid back onto the paypal account used to buy the online ticket. For example in the event of a Covid Pandemic case, Bad Weather, or War. We do accept payments by cash, on the door at events, or by card payment machines, such tickets purchased on the night are non refundable or transferable. You can contact us by text or book on our website & receive an email acknowledgement that we will hold your reserved ticket up to 9pm on the day. Our website operates a gender balance system, so we can take care to cover the leaders & followers at our dance events. This is a new system, & dancers are starting to enjoy using the website booking online, which means less admin for us. The Management & door staff at a disco jive event have the right to check all ticket holders on arrival & refuse entry, if appropriate. Health & Safety Policy : The correct dance shoes are required for your dancing safety, High heeled shoes no allowed, please ask for further deatils at our front desk or by email in advance on a dance night. Safeguarding Policy: It is a requirement for all dancers that they are trained in the dance moves correctly, & have completed at least 6 weeks basic training as we do not offer a class on freestyle nights. We have duty dance teachers & a dance crew who watch the dancers & help along any new faces. Venue Assessments: Our venue is a regular booking, it has a sprung wooden dance floor, high ceilings with good ventilation from electric fans. Our kitchen offers inclusive refreshments. There is a large free car park on level ground with disabled access . Disco jive reserves the right to change the published event, should illness occur from a performing artist, an alternative act may be booked or the event withdrawn.
